The simple beauty of a little bow goes a long way, making them perfect for many special occasions! Throwing a Minnie Mouse birthday party? Saweet, whip some of these out for Minnie’s oh so famous bow! Hosting a girly baby shower? Watch guests “aww” over these cute accessories! These bows would also make perfect royal Princess party treats! Easily versatile, as you can dye them any color to fit your theme!

These particular bow toppers I made helped complete a beautiful vintage chic bridal shower!

Here are the tools necessary to produce some fondant bow cupcake toppers:

•Fondant
•Food dye (of your choice)
•Rolling pin
•Pastry or pizza cutter
•Circle Cutter, 1 1/2 in. diameter
•Wax or parchment paper (whichever you have on hand)
•Ruler (IF you desire)

Roll out fondant on wax paper and with a pastry cutter, cut long strips of fondant. The dimension I used for these particular toppers was about 1 inch by 2 inches. You can change the dimensions of the strips to fit the size bow you’d like to accomplish!

Once you have your strips made, pretend you are going to fold the strips hotdog style, but only pinch the ends together, the end result resembling a pea pod!

Take the pinched ends and fold them against the previous fold. End results as followed:

Take two of the folded strips and bring them together, pressing gently to bond the fondant. Use a drop of water to ‘glue’ if fondant has dried out.

Time for more strips. Cut smaller strips to create the center of the bow. For mine, I used 1/2 inch by 1 inch. Take this strip and place over the center of the bows, tucking the extras underneath the bow so they are not visible.

Get the hang of the first couple of bows and the remaining should be easier.

Fondant bows can be placed right on top of a cupcake’s frosting or on top of a fondant cupcake topper!
