“Why did you chose the name Greenslate?”

I’ve been asked this on multiple occasions and there’s not a straight forward answer. A simple,  “I don’t know.” is an easy way out, but is also false!

Think of the things that make you happy and inspire. Yes, I’m a mom, yes my kids are my happy and my inspiration, but believe it or not, I was not always a mom! What was that thing that’s always caught my attention?

My favorite color has ALWAYS been green. Many shades of green I love, but the bright, lime greens motivate me in ways I cannot explain. My kitchen is lime green. 90% of my kitchen accessories and utensils are lime green. Boom. Motivation in my kitchen 24/7. Too bad that doesn’t mean I have the energy to cook a 5 star meal every night. Pizza. We like our pizza around here.

But, slate… where did slate come from?  That I truly don’t know, but somehow it stuck in my head, and it refuses to leave. (not to mention that I do love the color of slate… that MAY be the coordinating color in my kitchen, but that’s not important. )

Sooo… my patio might be grey and green, too. But who’s checking, anyway, because how cute is my 4 year old son and boyfriend?!
